About Us
The Hunter Angels is an angel investment group that supports early-stage businesses in the Newcastle and Hunter region. We connect passionate entrepreneurs with experienced investors to help them grow and thrive.
About The Role
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a part-time Executive Officer (EO). Working one day per week, you will provide critical support to our board and members, ensuring smooth operations and efficient communication. We host four pitch events each year where entrepreneurs showcase their businesses to attract investment from Members "Sharktank" style. The Board meets six times per year.
Responsibilities Board & Member Support: Coordinate and prepare agendas and materials for board meetings. Take accurate minutes and action items during meetings. Follow up on action items and ensure timely completion. Manage board member communications and requests. Administrative Support: Maintain and update member databases and contact information. Organise pitch meeting arrangements, including logistics for entrepreneurs and members. Provide general office administration support, including billing and collecting annual membership, and paying expenses incurred. Prepare presentations and reports as needed. Network & Research: Leverage your knowledge of the Newcastle and Hunter business networks to identify potential angel investment opportunities. Assist with the application process for those opportunities. Support the research of start-ups looking for angel investments. Coordinate industry activities relevant to the company's investment focus. Qualifications Minimum two years of experience in an administrative or executive assistant role. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Knowledge of accounting software is appreciated but not mandatory. Knowledge of the Newcastle and Hunter business network (preferred). Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Strong organisational skills and time management skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Benefits This is a paid engagement.
