Below is a brief description of this vacancyThis page outlines the vacancy and the key skills and responsibilities for the role.Part-Time Accountant(0.5-0.6 FTE) - Make a Difference in Marine ConservationHobart, AustraliaReference: 6633119The Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) is seeking a part-time, highly motivated Accountant to join our team in Hobart, Tasmania.About the Role:Play a vital role in supporting CCAMLR's mission of conserving Antarctic marine life by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. In this part-time position (negotiable hours from 37.5 to 45 hours per fortnight) you will be responsible for a wide range of accounting tasks, including:Assisting with budget preparation, forecasts, and monthly management account preparation.Supporting year-end closing procedures, financial statement preparation and interacting with auditors.Contributing to the management of CCAMLR's investments and special funds.Providing support with international financial reporting and tax requirements.Coordinating payroll and superannuation for staff.Maintaining general ledger accounts, processing journals, and reconciling bank statements.Managing accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely payments and collections.Why Choose Us?Competitive remuneration package starting at approx. $114,000 per annum (pro rata applies) inclusive of 15.4% superannuation and other benefits.Generous annual leave.Flexible working hours to suit your needs negotiable.Free onsite parking in the Hobart CBD.Opportunity to contribute to a meaningful organization dedicated to marine conservation.Work in a collaborative and supportive environment with a passionate team.Who We Are Looking For:A qualified accountant with a minimum bachelor's degree in accounting.Minimum five years of relevant experience.Strong knowledge of IFRS/AASB and experience in financial statement preparation and audit.Experience with payroll processing and superannuation.Excellent time management skills, meticulous attention to detail, and strong analytical and numerical skills.Proficiency in MS Office Suite and NetSuite (CCAMLR's ERP system).Effective communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines.We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our workplace.To Apply:To apply for this role, please see the position description for a full list of the duties and responsibilities and send your CV along with a cover letter which includes a statement or table addressing how your skills and experience best meet the requirements of the role.
