Parks Maintenance Person / Plant Operator – Ouyen

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Parks Maintenance Person / Plant Operator to join our clients' team based in Ouyen, on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for:Maintaining parks, gardens, and reserves. Supporting road construction and maintenance teams with plant and truck operations. Key Responsibilities and Duties: Parks and Gardens Maintenance: Perform tree maintenance, including trimming, pruning, and removal. Plant, water, prune, and fertilize trees, shrubs, and flower beds. Control weeds, diseases, and pests. Operate and maintain irrigation systems, making minor repairs as needed. Collect litter and garden waste from parks and reserves. Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean streets, parks, and public areas, including litter collection and toilet cleaning. Operate landfills and transfer stations. Inspect and maintain the Ouyen airstrip. Plant and Equipment Operation: Operate major plant items such as graders, loaders, and trucks. Support road construction and maintenance activities. Maintain equipment in a safe and serviceable condition. Complete required documentation for plant and equipment operation. Qualifications and Experience: Experience in parks and gardens maintenance is preferred. Proficiency in operating a variety of plant and machinery. Knowledge of irrigation systems and minor repair techniques. Understanding of OH&S practices. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
