Paralegal Officer - Clerk Grade 3/4

About the RoleThe NSW Department of Education is seeking a highly skilled Paralegal Officer to provide legal, clerical, and administrative support to the Legal Services Directorate.
Key ResponsibilitiesRespond to complex and sensitive enquiries, providing accurate and timely information to clients and stakeholders.Conduct research and project work, including drafting legal documents under supervision, to support the delivery of high-quality legal services.Communicate effectively with clients, referring enquiries to relevant Legal Services officers as needed.Assist with the preparation and delivery of legal education and training programs to internal and external stakeholders.Collect and analyze relevant legal data for reporting purposes, providing insights to inform business decisions.Essential RequirementsDemonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.Legal qualifications with eligibility to hold a current NSW legal practising certificate, or recent substantial completion of legal studies leading to a law degree for practice in NSW.Key Knowledge and ExperienceKnowledge and experience in the relevant area/s of law impacting on the NSW Department of Education, with the ability to provide targeted, high-quality assistance, research, drafting, and casework services.Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.How to ApplyApplicants should attach their resume and a cover letter explaining why they would be a great fit for this role, including areas of relevant experience.
