About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Sydney office for a casual Paralegal to work in our Government & Administrative Law team, which acts for a broad range of clients including Commonwealth Departments and Agencies, primarily in Public Law litigation. The matters span across Commonwealth employee compensation, military compensation and veterans' entitlements, and disability insurance access and planning matters under the NDIS.
Working under the guidance of a very experienced but down-to-earth and friendly Partner, together with supervision and support from the broader team, you will have a varied workload and some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Preparation of tribunal and court documents. Summarising medical and other records. Preparation and review of summonses. Drafting letters of instructions to experts and briefs to investigators. Drafting and collating briefs to Counsel. Legal research and summaries. About you
This position would be suited to a law student in their third year, ideally with at least 12 months of paralegal experience. Your passion and enthusiasm for the law, your genuine interest in developing in the public law space, and your willingness to work as part of a collaborative team will see you succeed in this role.
