Job Description: Painting Trades Worker to apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other finishes to protect, maintain, and decorate surfaces of buildings and structures using various techniques and tools.
Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other finishes to protect, maintain, and decorate surfaces.Select and prepare paints to required colours by mixing portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying additives.Erect scaffolding and ladders, and place drop sheets to protect adjacent areas from paint splattering.Hang wallpaper, match patterns, and trim edges.Clean equipment and work areas.Operate and maintain high pressure low volume spray machines and various power and manual tools.Read blueprints and drawings of the premise for the execution of painting job.Remove previous paint by sandblasting, scraping, sanding, hydro-blasting, and steam-cleaning.Fix woodwork, fill holes and cracks, and smooth and seal surfaces. Requirements: Minimum Cert III in Painting and Decorating and 2 years' relevant work experience.
