Packaging Tech Officer
Bayer CropScience is looking for a full-time Pack Tech Officer to join our Pinkenba manufacturing operation.
The role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of packaging processes, ensuring product integrity, compliance with industry standards, and optimizing packaging efficiency.
The role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to address packaging-related issues and develop innovative solutions and best practices.
Key duties and tasks:
Packaging design collaboration – Work with the product development teams to create and enhance packaging designs, ensuring they meet product specifications and boost consumer appeal.
Perform conformance testing on packaging to verify it meets the required specifications and quality compliance standards.
Oversee packaging processes onsite.
Complete laboratory quality control testing through regular inspections and audits on materials and finished products.
Act as the main contact for internal teams and suppliers for queries and concerns.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues promptly.
Provide workflow analysis and improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs without compromising on quality.
Provide training and guidance to production staff on packaging machinery and SOPs.
Maintain accurate records of specifications, processes, and materials.
Prepare packaging performance metrics and provide accurate and timely reports to management.
Contribute to the development and implementation of sustainable packaging solutions in line with the company's environmental goals.
Assist in delivering a continuous improvement mindset and agile work environment, through a culture of continuous improvement and customer centricity.
Promote and uphold safe working practices.
Does this sound like you?
Territory qualifications in material science, chemistry, or related field.
Proven experience in packaging development.
Experience in the chemical or liquid manufacturing industry would be highly regarded.
Demonstrable hands-on experience in a quality control laboratory, completing benchwork and applying quality control techniques.
Up-to-date knowledge on packaging materials, processes, and available technologies.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Experience in reviewing and updating work instructions and SOPs.
Embodying DSO values and behaviours, while actively promoting their duties.
Strong hazard reporting and overall safety culture awareness.
Demonstrates an innovative mindset, with a passion for sustainability.
