The opportunity Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) are seeking an experienced Senior ICT Network Engineer to join our growing team. You will play a vital role in enabling a world-class maritime, intelligence, surveillance and response aircraft in the P-8A Poseidon. You will be joining a challenging and dynamic environment, supporting an aircraft platform that defends Australia's interests.
The role is located at RAAF Base Edinburgh, South Australia.
As a Senior ICT Network Engineer, you will:
Integrate and enable new network design elements into existing network infrastructureMonitor network performance and troubleshoot issues as they ariseWork closely with a broad government team and other parties to enable solutionsCarry out analysis and investigations to resolve issues and improve resiliencyFault find and configure Satellite technologies, modems, and other data communications technologiesWork within the bounds of aviation engineering standards and approved designTo be considered for the role you will have: CCNA or equivalent certifications and/or experienceStrong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.)Experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking technologiesFamiliarization with Windows and Linux environmentsKnowledge of basic scripting languagesKnowledge of the Australian Information Security Manual (ISM)Understanding of encryption technologies and standardsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate complex security concepts to a broad and diverse audienceUnderstanding of the Defence Single Information Environment and Defence Networks is advantageousApplicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements.
