Team Leaders/Supervisors (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics) Border Express currently has an exciting opportunity available for an experienced and motivated Outbound Supervisor to join the operations team at our Albury Branch.
This position is responsible for supervising and coordinating the loading/unloading and departure of Linehaul units to ensure optimum performance against customer service requirements and compliance with all relevant business procedures – including safety, cost management, and all legal requirements.
Duties: Ensure that resource allocation is optimised at all times to reduce costs and achieve performance measures; Plan and monitor all freight movements for effective utilisation in order to meet the operations time schedule; Supervise the loading/unloading of freight so that it is stored and restrained safely and effectively at all times; Identify and initiate employee training where performance shortfalls are recognised or opportunities for advancement are presented; Complete all Event Reporting Correction Actions in a timely manner; Adhere to all BEX and customer site safety rules including the Traffic Management Plan; Be safe and follow all Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions and if unsure seek clarity with your Manager before putting yourself or others at risk; Respond to and investigate all incidents, hazards, unsafe acts and damages without delay; Address all damages to freight or equipment immediately, escalate when necessary.
Skills and Experience: Previous experience in the Transport Industry in a supervisory role; Sound knowledge of Dangerous Goods (DG) requirements, Load Restraint requirements, WHS and relevant transportation Acts and Regulations; Ability to follow company policy and ensure all staff adhere to relevant policies and procedures; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Forklift Licence is essential; MR Licence is preferred but not essential.
