Mechanical Engineering Technician PORTXGROUP PTY LTD PortxGroup provides products and services to Container Terminals and the Logistics Industry. We are a distribution partner of Kuenz cranes, sfPorteq spreaders, Terberg Terminal Tractors, Merford cabins and supply maintenance services & parts that suit all makes and models of material handling equipment. PortxGroup Australia is expanding its Container Crane Maintenance team and we're looking for experienced Mechanical Technicians to join us. This position is being offered on a full-time, permanent basis. Key Responsibilities Carry out maintenance repairs and modifications on Rail Mounted Gantry Cranes (RMG), Rubber Tyred Gantry Cranes (RTG), Spreaders and other plant and equipment. Perform regular tests, inspections and maintenance of cranes, hoists, and other lifting equipment and collect test data for analysis. Rebuild, replace, or repair major equipment components, mechanical assemblies, and hydraulic control systems. Maintain and update records of work performed on equipment to track service history. Interpret technical drawings and identify appropriate tooling and techniques to implement modifications or repairs. Correct unsafe conditions and housekeeping problems in the work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately. Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties. Respond to work requests in a timely manner as per assigned KPIs. About you Ability to read and interpret hydraulic drawings and troubleshoot hydraulic systems. Am engineering-related tertiary qualification will be highly regarded. Strong communication skills (written and verbal). A desire to learn and be trained for potential opportunities to work on international projects. Must be available to work overtime and travel to conduct works onsite as required.
