If you're a good communicator and enjoy achieving positive outcomes, then you have the qualities needed to become a prison officer.
There are no specific qualifications needed, but you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or hold Australian permanent residency.
You must also hold an Australian driver's licence (minimum P2).
What's in it for you Earn up to $88,546 with a base salary of $61,620 plus penalty rates and overtime Annual salary increases, 5 weeks annual leave, 3 weeks personal leave and provisions for study leave 41 days comprehensive paid training (full time) Complete a Certificate III in Correctional Practice (Adult Custodial) Regional relocation assistance of up to $10,000 for a move to regional Victoria.
* $5,000 sign-on bonus New prison officers are now eligible for a bonus of up to $5,000.
Six months after commencing, you will receive a payment of $2,500.
Then, after one year's full-time employment, you will receive an additional payment of $2,500.
