The Role:   We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operational Technology (OT) Systems Specialist with engineering experience sitting within Grid Technology.
Ideally, you will have a deep understanding of control systems, engineering, and IT infrastructure within an OT environment.
You will be responsible for providing specialised technical and analytical assistance in the identification and implementation of opportunities and solutions to the underlying IT systems and infrastructure (including Windows, Linux, AD, and virtualisation) that support critical infrastructure that controls the electrical network.
So, what does this look like day to day?
You will apply your technical engineering knowledge to effectively analyse and resolve complex problems that support ICT systems and applications in an operational environment.
You will engage in ongoing maintenance, support, upgrades, and enhancements to deliver cost-effective solutions to meet customer expectations and appropriate timelines.
Additionally, you will provide recommendations as well as develop , maintain , and implement standards and architecture for systems and applications within the OT environment.
You can plan and manage large and complex system upgrades and configuration changes when required, too.
With flexi-working and a 9 or 10 day fortnight in place, the bottom of the salary band starts from $140,751 for 9 days and $159,049 for 10 days + 12.75% superannuation .
The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant's knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in this position.
Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Energy Queensland Union Collective Agreement 2020.

About You:   In addition to your Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related), you will have proven capability working in a technical role within an OT environment .
It would be advantageous to be a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and/or a Red Hat Certified Engineer (or similar).
You can demonstrate that you have a high level of knowledge in application of Windows Server management tools and practices, including knowledge and experience in the operational support of a large and complex OT/IT environment.
Technologies could include Linux or Windows .
Whilst you can work autonomously , you also enjoy collaborating with colleagues to achieve desired outcomes.
You will be joining a well-supported team, where mentoring and coaching happens at that peer-level as well as from management.
