Provide expert professional advice on processes, technology and systems related to Operational Technology (OT). This role reports to the Senior Solution Architect, you will directly engage with stakeholders such as the business users, architects, delivery teams and vendors to develop architecture designs in alignment with the current enterprise architecture, strategies, architecture reference models and architecture framework.Your role is critical in the design and assurance of stable and standardised operational technology environments. You are highly proficient in operational technology domains and apply this knowledge to ensure that best practice technology is implemented across the organisation operation.You will work in the Digital, Technology and Information group develop and implement our client's strategic technology framework. This group takes the lead on implementing energy management systems and technologies, as well as supporting the development of new technologies that deliver efficiency and connectivity.Key responsibilitiesUndertake professional engineering services for operational technology with specific emphasis on cost effectiveness, risk reduction, constructability and operability. Engineering services may be provided across: Concept, preliminary or detailed designSID, Risk, CHAZOP, HAZOP and HACCP assessmentsVerification and acceptance stagesProvide expert professional advice on processes, technology and systems related to Operational Technology (OT). This includes Historian, SCADA, PLC, Networking, Internet of Things (IoT) and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)Contribute engineering expertise to relevant industry and research-based programs and facilitate the translation of applicable outcomes into reduced risk and increased efficiency for the current architecturesLead the development of intricate technical solutions and architecture standards that meet stakeholder needs, leveraging tools and principles from the Architecture team, empowering employees to contribute to management decisions and establish procedures.Translate requirements into a language understood by solution providers, business teams, and/or technology teams in the chosen technology domain ( Application, IaaS, DevSecOps, Data, Cloud, Identity or Security ). This includes creating solution architecture diagrams, high-level architecture, implementable architecture, prototyping, mock-ups, and wireframes .Provide technical and engineering input into development of programs of work, business cases and project documentation, ensuring the correct application of technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices, including security, enabling employees to make decisions in their work areaExercise independent judgment in peer reviewing designs to enhance solution architecture artifacts , supporting employees in setting outcomes and managing time effectively to achieve desired resultsPerform Solution Architecture consultancy services within designated technology domains , ensuring high-quality outputs in terms of time, cost, and business benefit, emphasizing the need for interpersonal skills and effective human resource management practices from employeesQualifications and experienceDegree qualification in Electrical, Mechatronics, Software or equivalent engineering discipline.Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) or Chartered Engineer is preferred.High level of proficiency and specialist training in theoretical or applied approaches to SCADA, Historian, PLC software and hardware, communications network architectures, Internet of Things (IoT), and a demonstrated ability to learn and apply and support new solutions.Expertise in at least one of the following information technology areas: Application development,DevSecOps,Cloud engineering,Integration,Data solutions.Working knowledge of industrial electrical design and installation practices corporate technology frameworks and practices, relevant legislative, regulatory and standards requirements relating to professional engineering servicesKnowledge of quality assurance systems and processes.Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, managing and supporting large scale distributed control systems with geographically dispersed and interdependent multi-site facilities and process plants in water, wastewater, gas or petrochemical industries.Demonstrated experience in preparing control systems planning and design documentation including architectures, standards and specifications.Highly developed skills in preparing succinct planning reports, technical reports and scopes of works that are fit for purpose and address user needs, legislative and regulatory requirements, potential risks and their consequences.Demonstrated experience in assessing user requirements and providing clear, concise and accurate advice to a wide range of people with varying levels of knowledge and expertise.Proven ability to review and evaluate complex engineering, process drawings and specifications, analyse complex problems, identify critical issues and develop appropriate solutions.Demonstrated working experience in Solution Architect roles or similar.Knowledge of TOGAF or Zachman Framework desirable.Why apply with Hudson Recruitment?Wondering which agency to contact for your next role?
