Job Description FamilyCare currently have permanent , full-time opportunities ( part-time negotiable with a minimum of 0.8 EFT) for Child and Family Practitioners  to join our team at The Orange Door . These positions are based in Shepparton (Wallan may be considered), with occasional travel required throughout the region.
FamilyCare and The Orange Door The Orange Door brings together different workforces and practices to create an integrated Orange Door Team and a consolidated intake point for child and family and family violence services.
A key recommendation of the Royal Commission and the Roadmap for Reform was to establish a network of Support and Safety Hubs (The Orange Door) across Victoria to provide a new way for women, children and young people experiencing family violence, and families in need of support with the care, development and wellbeing of children and young people, to access coordinated support from community, health and justice services.
How You'll Make a Difference As part of The Orange Door, our Child and Family Practitioners will provide intake, screening, triage and assessment for individuals and families seeking child and family or family violence services.
Working within our Goulburn Support and Safety Hub, you will provide a specialist focus on the wellbeing of children, young people and families through your intake and assessment role.
Some of the day-to-day duties may include: Provide appropriate referrals to Family Services and to other services and agencies Liaising with Orange Door Practice Leaders to support risk assessment and planning Regular reporting to your Child Wellbeing Team Leader Maintaining accurate client records and service data

What You'll Bring to the Team To be considered for these roles, you must hold a Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent qualification, or meet other requirements as outlined in the mandatory minimum qualifications for family violence practitioners  Recommendation 209 (i.e. hold relevant qualifications or can demonstrate that you are working towards these qualifications).
To excel in these roles, you will have a warm and engaging demeanour and will draw on your experience and understanding of working with vulnerable children and families to ensure individuals and families are receiving appropriate levels of support.
Other requirements include: Sound knowledge of the issues facing vulnerable families including child development, trauma and attachment An understanding of relevant theoretical frameworks and legislation The ability to undertake child-focused assessments and consultations Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate with people from a diverse range of backgrounds Well-developed administrative skills including maintaining accurate files and detailed assessment notes Willingness to obtain a valid Working with Children Check and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencing employment with us. If you have spent over 12 months overseas in the last 10 years, you will also be required to undergo an International Police Check or present evidence of a satisfactory check Valid Australian Driver Licence Minimum 2 doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine A Rewarding Role - In More Ways Than One In addition to a competitive salary of $76,715 - $102,874 (depending on qualifications and experience), you will be rewarded for your important work with:
