Position Overview:
As the Livebird Operations Manager at JS Transport Group, you will hold a pivotal role in overseeing the coordination and execution of livebird transport and catching operations across our states of VIC, TAS, NSW & SA. This integral position involves ensuring strict compliance with safety, hygiene, and animal welfare standards, while fostering positive relationships with stakeholders and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate State Livebird Transport & Catching Managers to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.
- Ensure unwavering compliance with company procedures, bio-security requirements, and pertinent regulations.
- Efficiently manage contracts, procurement, and program delivery to optimize operational efficiency.
- Monitor performance metrics, pinpoint areas for enhancement, and implement necessary corrective actions.
- Foster positive relationships with customers, service providers, and subcontractors.
- Lead comprehensive staff training initiatives to ensure strict adherence to industry best practices.
- Uphold company values and policies, actively promoting a culture of safety and respect in the workplace.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the transportation or related industry.
- Proven leadership skills, with a demonstrable track record of effectively managing teams and achieving tangible results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a proven capacity to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Thorough knowledge of safety, hygiene, and animal welfare regulations.
- Proficiency in contract management, procurement, and strategic planning.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- Current and valid car driver's license necessary (MC desirable).
