About the OPPORTUNITY We currently have a rewarding opportunity to work with us as an Operations Manager – Subcontracts Lead within our Hunter Frigates Program based at Osborne.
Reporting to the Project Manager – Production Subcontracts, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of all activities within the allocated scope of the Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) project at Osborne Naval Shipyard.
The incumbent will ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, cost, and schedule governance to achieve program goals and deliverables.
This role is open to a 9-day fortnight and based out of our Osborne Shipyard site.
Key responsibilities will include: Providing leadership and mentorship to the integrated work team members Responsible for the deconfliction and delivery of all activities within the allocated Area Responsible for day to day management of team including activities in the workshop and/or on board ship Monitoring and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as necessary to meet project milestones Liaise with the Subcontract HVAC Manager to ensure trade performance is monitored and maintained in line with contract scope deliverable and milestones are achieved Proactively addressing project issues and challenges Monitoring resources to ensure there is sufficient to meet the required completion schedule Supporting continuous improvement and sharing of lessons learnt across the business to contribute to Ship on Ship learning Provide support when needed across other IWT portfolios e.g.
Insulation/Habitation/Blast & Paint About YOU You'll have: Previous experience managing HVAC installation in a heavy engineering and/or defence environment (desirable) Well-developed self-management skills and demonstrated ability to work under own initiative to deliver outputs safely, to schedule, quality, and cost Experience in leadership of multi-functional teams in a complex operating environment Ability to use and adapt written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of difference audiences is critical to this role Exposure to balancing conflicting priorities to deliver against business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder management Computer literacy, with intermediate knowledge of MS Suite.
