Use your management experience to run operational activities for the Sydney Conservatorium of MusicHEO 10 Base Salary $150,628 + 17% superannuationAbout the opportunity The Sydney Conservatorium of Music (SCM) is seeking an Operations Manager to provide expert advice and guidance to implement strategy, policy, and related business plans into operational activity. With five direct reports, the role will manage the utilisation of resources across a wide range of teaching and research activity for both the tertiary and secondary school programs.
The position holder will also ensure the maintenance of the building as a music education and performance facility utilising effective operational and administrative systems to meet these requirements in alignment with University policies, practices and relevant legislative and regulatory controls to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and visitors.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
lead operational and administrative functions for the work areamanage communication and stakeholder engagementprovide effective leadership and guidance to support staffoversee risk and workplace health and safetymanage operational budgets and prepare reports as required for management groups and governance committeeswork flexibly outside normal business hours to support the 1200+ public events each year.About you excellent time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and achieve required outcomesability to work independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily workexcellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven negotiation and conflict resolution abilities including demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with a variety of mattersprofessional experience managing a complex public environment including venue operations, ticket sales and Front of House dutiesexperience managing a diverse group of key stakeholders on large and complex projects and the ability to foster productive relationships with industry providers and key usersfinancial management experience and literacy, experience managing budgets and controlling income and expenditure for projectsdemonstrated experience in the supervision, training, mentoring and performance management of staff and resolving a diverse range of complex HR issuesproven management experience at a senior level together with flexibility, capacity to adapt to changing circumstances and environments and when necessary, navigating through ambiguity.Sponsorship / work rights for Australia Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
