We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Radiology Operations Manager to lead our team and ensure smooth, efficient, and patient-focused radiology services.
Job Overview:
As the Radiology Operations Manager , you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our radiology department, ensuring high-quality service delivery, managing staff, optimising workflow, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
This role will require a strong blend of clinical knowledge, leadership, and operational expertise to drive excellence in both patient care and departmental performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership: Manage the daily operations of the radiology department, ensuring timely, efficient, and high-quality imaging services.
Team Management: Lead, train, and support radiologists, technicians, and administrative staff.
Foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
Implement quality assurance programs and maintain a focus on patient safety.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the department's budget, including resource allocation, cost control, and equipment procurement.
Patient Experience: Improve patient satisfaction by ensuring excellent care during imaging procedures and reducing wait times.
Collaboration: Work closely with referring physicians, senior management, and other departments to ensure coordinated care and efficient operations.
Technology Management: Stay current with advancements in imaging technology and work with IT teams to ensure optimal use of Radiology Information Systems (RIS), Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), and other digital platforms.
Performance Monitoring: Track departmental performance through key performance indicators and provide regular reports to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Radiologic Technology, or a related field including sonography.
A Master's degree in Business Administration is preferred.
Experience: Minimum 4–5 years of experience in radiology or imaging operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Certifications: AHPRA registration is preferred, but not required.
Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
In-depth knowledge of radiology practices, medical imaging technologies, and healthcare regulations.
Proficient in Radiology Information Systems (RIS), PACS, and other above average IT systems.
Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and multitasking abilities.
Experience with Medicare, work cover, and DVA billings.
