About Timberlink: Timberlink Australia & New Zealand is a sustainable leading softwood timber products manufacturing and distribution business, employing over 600 people. Our world-class manufacturing sites are located close to some of the best renewable plantation pine resources in the world - Bell Bay in Tasmania & Tarpeena in South Australia. Our fit-for-purpose indoor and outdoor plantation pine products are suitable for building new homes, renovation projects, and other industrial manufacturing applications including packaging, pallets, and furniture components. At Timberlink we embrace innovation, and this drives our constant growth. We are currently building two purpose-built manufacturing plants to adjoin our existing facilities at both of our sites. Complementing our already diverse range of products, we will be manufacturing new timber products including cross laminated & glue laminated timber (NeXTimber) and wood-plastic composite decking & screening, expanding our business into new markets in 2023. These products will take Timberlink from being primarily a structural timber manufacturer to a structural engineered timber products and solutions business.
About the role: The Operations Manager for the CLT/GLT facility at our Tarpeena site (20 minutes from Mount Gambier) is a critical leadership role within the Timberlink Leadership Team (TLT), reporting directly to the General Manager. This key position oversees the performance of our CLT/GLT production activities, focusing on operational excellence, strategic alignment, and achieving profit contributions and key performance measures.
Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations at the CLT/GLT facility, ensuring that all projects are delivered to high standards on time and within budget. Strategic Impact: Provide strategic advice and support for the implementation and management of production projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Culture and Standards: Lead by example to set high standards, foster a culture of excellence and safety, and drive the success of significant investments in the facility. Team Development: Actively develop and lead the production and maintenance teams, ensuring they are well-engaged, aligned with operational goals, and understand their impact on the business's success. Requirements / Skills Experience: Ideal candidates will have experience in managing engineered wood product facilities or other large manufacturing sites. Education: A Mechanical Engineering Degree or relevant trade qualifications are desirable. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities required to manage large teams and influence cultural norms. Project Management: Proven skills in project management and financial oversight are crucial. The ideal candidate for the Operations Manager position at Timberlink's CLT/GLT facility in Tarpeena is a dynamic and experienced leader, poised to drive both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations in a complex manufacturing environment.
