An exiting opportunity exists for an Operations/Logistics Manager to join our team at Tony & Mark's Direct, a leading wholesale food distribution company located in Pooraka. The successful candidate will be a committed and experienced professional in charge of overseeing the daily operations of our warehouse, ensuring efficient management of stock, logistics, and workforce.
Key Responsibilities Stock Ordering: Manage inventory levels by coordinating with suppliers to ensure adequate stock availability. Monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and place orders to maintain smooth supply chain operations. Logistics Coordination: Organise and schedule delivery drivers run sheet to ensure timely and accurate distribution of goods to customers. Handle any logistical challenges that may arise during delivery operations. Team Management: Orientating and training of new team members. Monitoring employee performance, pickers and warehouse staff, ensuring that they follow procedures and complete orders accurately. Provide leadership, allocate tasks, and offer support when needed. Warehouse Maintenance: Ensure that the warehouse is well-maintained, safe, and compliant with health and safety regulations ensuring it is in line with company policies and procedures. Address any maintenance issues in a timely manner to minimize disruptions. Regular vehicle inspections. Rostering: Prepare and manage rosters for warehouse staff, delivery drivers, and pickers, ensuring that staffing levels are aligned with operational requirements. Customer satisfaction: liaising with customers/suppliers Skills and Qualifications · Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within wholesale, logistics, or warehouse management is essential.
· Leadership: Proven ability to manage teams and supervise staff effectively. Strong decision-making skills and the ability to lead under pressure.
· Organisational Skills: Exceptional organisational and multitasking abilities, with strong attention to detail in managing stock, logistics, and staff schedules.
· Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with staff, suppliers, and customers.
· Problem-Solving: A proactive approach to problem-solving, particularly in handling stock, logistics, and operational challenges.
· Tech-Savvy: Competent in using warehouse management systems, inventory software, and basic office programs (e.g., Microsoft Excel)
· High-Pressure Environments: Ability to work in a fast paced maintaining a respectful and professional manner within the team.
· Task Delegation: Effectively delegate tasks and responsibility as required
· Critical Situations: Ability to make efficient decisions under pressure
