About the role
The Project Operations Manager provides daily leadership and overall management of the daily Freight Operations and local and large-scale national projects.
This role is responsible for all staff in this area and effective coordination and cooperation between other areas within the business unit and other TGE Divisions.
It will also ensure sound management of both service and productivity to internal and external customers.
What you'll do
Efficient organisation and management of all handling staff and resources.
Oversee manpower planning in line with volume expectations.
Ensure time critical freight is shipped or unpacked in time to meet delivery requirements in Tasmania.
Ensure Maintenance of all Mobile plant and equipment is performed in line with OEM guidelines including a robust Freight Maintenance System for servicing and Defective Vehicle Repairs.
Ensure the accurate preparation of Service, Cost and Productivity KPI's for the warehouse.
Fully implement the strategic Account Management directive that achieves operational excellence for major customers.
Ensure uprate strategies are formulated and fully implemented in a timely manner.
Manage and deliver account reporting requirements and revise strategies accordingly.
Foster a culture that is passionate about safety and customer centricity.
What you'll bring
Qualification in Logistics/Supply Chain or similar.
Warehouse Management experience.
Demonstrated experience in managing large scale logistical projects.
Ability to contribute to implement and manage Business plans.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage complex scenarios.
Sound knowledge of and ability to maintain record keeping.
Experience in the management of industrial relations.
Sound knowledge of OH&S principles and legal responsibilities.
