Operational Services Officer (Ward Services) CasualCentral Queensland Hospital and Health Service – Gladstone QLD
Gladstone Operational Services are responsible for providing services in catering, housekeeping, ward support, and fire safety and security service to the entire Gladstone Hospital facility and surrounds. Our Destination 2030: Great Care for Central Queenslanders strategy will see Gladstone Hospital developed as a centre for emergency care, medical inpatient and day surgery excellence. This will optimise outreach services to deliver care closer to home in the Gladstone and Banana rural communities.
About the role:Provide quality environmental cleaning, catering, and linen services to the clients of the Gladstone Hospital facility. To support our patients, clients, families, and communities to take care of themselves and each other. Work with our partners to connect our services and operate safely and sustainably every day.
Ability to prioritise tasks daily to ensure high standards of Infection Control are maintained in your area of responsibility.Teamwork is very important, and you need to have the ability to work cooperatively with your work colleagues in Operational Services and other disciplines across the facility to achieve desired goals.Assist in food services functions, by following routine procedures and established techniques to complete tasks as directed. Required to operate individually through a variety of duties including but not limited to salad, sandwich and vegetable preparation, plating of meals, beverage service, delivery of meals, morning and afternoon teas, client contact, cleaning, and stock management.About you:Demonstrated knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in equipment, products, standards, policies, and procedures related to Operational Services.Ability to work as a team member to achieve organisational goals.Written and verbal communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and employees of the Hospital and Health Service.Ability to carry out duties with a minimum of supervision, to set realistic work priorities, have good organisational skills, and meet deadlines.What we offer:Salary information: An hourly rate between $38.42 - $40.99 p.h (including 25% casual loading)12.75% employer superannuation contributionOther benefits include: Work-Life Balance, Variety and FlexibilityEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) requirements:It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against vaccine preventable diseases as listed on the Role Description.
