The purpose of this Operational Services Officer role is to undertake operational support in laundry, catering, cleaning and porterage at the Charters Towers Health Service (CTHS).
In conjunction with providing basic domestic cleaning and support services to the frail aged of the community and their carers.
The principal location of the role is with Operational Services, CTHS campus.
At times the demand for both Home Care and Operational Services varies and staff may be redeployed to Home Care Services..

Pro rata remuneration package based on full-time equivalent value of up to $73,986 p.a., comprising base salary range of$30.33 - $32.70 p.h.
(OO2), recreational leave loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%).

About the role Undertake operational services in laundry, kitchen, cleaning and porterage as determined by the Operational Services Supervisor.
Linen/Laundry Service is responsible for providing the efficient washing of linens and personal clothing, pick-up and delivery across all Charters Towers facilities including driving a light body truck with a C class licence.
Sort linen and clothing, operate washing machines, dryers, rollers, and ironing machines including loading and unloading, fold and prepare linen and resident clothing.
Food Service (Catering) is responsible for the serving and delivery of meals to inpatients, as per dietary requirement list and cleaning kitchen and staff dining room areas.
Cleaning Service is responsible for efficient cleaning of designated areas, including the hospital ward, clinical rooms, and amenities.
Porterage Service is responsible for helping nursing staff with patient cares and specialised cleaning in areas like theatre.
Porterage is also responsible for preparation of the helipad before an incoming flight.
Perform Domestic Assistance (Cleaning) and Social Support (Accompanied Shopping, etc) within the clients' home and community as directed by the Home Care Service Coordinator.
Work to a roster determined by the Home Care Service Coordinator, which requires planning work schedules and meeting deadlines utilising appropriate time management skills.
Observe changes in client / carer status, complete appropriate documentation in a timely manner and report to the Home Care Service Coordinator.
The Home Care Worker role is NOT a nursing or personal carer role.
Role requirements Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a motor vehicle requiring possession of a "C" class driver's licence.
Proof of possession of a current licence must be provided before commencement of duty.
Aged Care Pre-Employment Screening: Applicants are advised this position works in an identified Aged Care Facility as per the Aged Care Act 1997 and therefore requires employees and volunteers to have a current National Police Certificate.
Queensland Health will facilitate applicants obtaining the above National Police Certificate.
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening Check: As a Health Care worker in Queensland Health who engages in risk-assessed roles, you must hold a current disability check (Yellow Card or Yellow Card Exemption) or an NDIS worker screening check, in accordance with Part 5 of the Disability Services Act 2006 (Qld).
