As Risk Manager, you will play a pivotal role within our dynamic organization, reporting directly to our Chief Operating Officer - Australia.
Your responsibilities are crucial to supporting the impactful initiatives of our Australia Operations Team.
Collaborating with a high-performing and engaged group of professionals, you will spearhead the first line of risk defense.
Your focus will be on closely aligning with the business and key stakeholders to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the business.
Your primary mandate involves addressing lodged risk events, comprehending their implications, and effectively communicating them to relevant stakeholders.
Beyond reactive measures, you will proactively drive preventative actions and contribute to the development of robust frameworks for risk management.
In this capacity, you will actively cultivate a culture of risk awareness and mitigation, contributing significantly to the overall success and resilience of our organization.
The responsibilities will include: Work proactively with business units to identify and close out risk events – both new and old.
Communicate risk implications and prevention strategies to relevant stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Develop and implement risk and control frameworks by analysing risk registers.
Collaborate with teams to understand the regulatory landscape and legislative guidelines, particularly in Australian Superannuation and Wealth.
Engage in relationship management activities, including client-facing interactions and other stakeholder engagements.
What are we ideally looking for in a successful candidate?
Background in risk management is ideal but not essential; candidates with an analytical mindset as well as an interest in risk and project management, are encouraged to apply.
Excellent communication skills with the proven ability to simplify complex information into an audience appropriate context.
Experience in client-facing roles and adept at engaging with stakeholders, with the ability to influence and bring others on a journey.
Demonstrated ability to turn information into an operational and client-focused lens.
Financial services experience, with a preference for knowledge in Australian Superannuation and Wealth.
Ideally you will have proven track record in closing out risk events and implementing preventative actions.
Collaborative and supportive, relishes in cultivating a positive team culture both within the immediate team and across the broader FNZ organization.
