Your Role: Operations Lead As the Operations Lead, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a major upgrade to one of our largest core platforms.
You'll need a strong foundation in AWS, coupled with an engineering mindset to guide the development of a robust, scalable platform.
Post-delivery, you'll ensure the platform operates smoothly, meeting all operational standards and business needs.
Key Responsibilities Operations Leadership: Lead the SRE team to ensure operational stability for the application, ensuring adequate observability is in place with the right alerting.Platform Delivery: Lead the integration and delivery of the upgraded core platform, ensuring it meets all technical specifications and operational standards.Operational Excellence: Oversee the transition from project delivery to operations, ensuring the platform is fully operational and supported by robust processes.AWS Expertise: Apply your deep understanding of AWS to guide the platform's architecture and ensure it aligns with best practices and Optus' strategic goals.Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a diverse team, both onshore and offshore, to ensure they are equipped to support the platform post-delivery.Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key business units to ensure the platform meets current and future needs, acting as the main point of contact for escalations and inquiries.Continuous Improvement: Drive ongoing optimization of the platform, implementing automation and monitoring solutions to enhance performance and reliability.Financial Oversight: Manage the operational budget, ensuring that expenditures align with the capital plan and that any risks are identified and mitigated early.Compliance & Governance: Ensure that all operations adhere to Optus' policies and regulatory requirements, maintaining the highest standards of compliance.What We're Looking For Technical Expertise: Strong AWS knowledge with a focus on designing and managing large-scale, enterprise-level platforms.Operational Savvy: Proven experience in managing post-delivery operations, ensuring platforms are reliable, efficient, and meet SLAs.Engineering Mindset: Ability to oversee the technical delivery of a platform, ensuring it meets all engineering standards and operational requirements.People Skills: A collaborative leader who can motivate and manage a diverse team, ensuring they are aligned with Optus' goals and values.Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve issues, with the ability to drive outcomes through collaboration and leadership.Vendor Management: Experience in managing external partners, ensuring they deliver high-quality services and adhere to contractual KPIs.At Optus, we have an ambitious goal to be Australia's most loved everyday brand.
