About the role
GMS is seeking to employ an Open Pit Training Advisor to provide training, development and coaching to employees and contractor personnel.
Reporting to the Health, Safety and Training Manager, responsibilities of this role will include:
Responsible for the training and assessing of operators onsite – VOCs; Site Specific Training Courses; and inductions Manage all surface operations and work groups and technical training support requirements for surface mining operations inclusive of contractors, long and short term Develop and organise training procedures for development of all employees Ensure site training procedures, materials and practices meet the requirements of WA Legislation, Australian Standards, Codes of Practice and are aligned to National Training Package requirements Maintaining and updating employee training records/training needs analysis Work with our Leaders to identify training opportunities and development Liaise with and coordinate RTO's and training vendors for all High Risk and other support training required for operation compliance eg, First Aid, etc Monitoring, reporting and analysing WHS and Training data Conduct incident investigations and reporting Undertake risk management process e.g., General Risk Actively participate in inspections/audits & toolbox meetings Keeping up to date with the latest WHS Act & Regulations About you
We are looking for an Open Pit Training Advisor who is highly motivated and enjoys working alongside likeminded professionals in a growing team and company.
Someone who is keen to get involved with a project start-up and share their knowledge whilst gaining exposure to multiple parts of the wider business.
Driver's license (C Class, manual car) Minimum 3+ years in a similar position within the mining industry Cert IV Training and Assessment Experience in the development or delivery of training materials to various group sizes Clear understanding and application of key principles underlying the design and delivery of training (such as Adult Learning styles) Excellent understanding of WHS act and regulations Advanced software skills including INX InControl, InTuition and +LMS (or equivalent), and Microsoft Office Suite Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing skills Submit your applications
