Aeris Resources is a mid-tier base and precious metals producer.
Its copper-dominant portfolio comprises three operating assets, a long-life development project and a highly prospective exploration portfolio, spanning Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.
The Operation Tritton has an existing underground copper mine and is expanding the Tritton complex with a new open cut expansion that includes the development of a new Geology and Technical Services team.
The Role
We are seeking highly motivated and skilled Open Pit Geological Technicians to join our dynamic team.
In this role, the selected individual will assist the geological department in the ongoing development and operation of our open pit mining activities.
The position involves fieldwork and close collaboration with multiple teams to ensure optimal and safe mining operations.
The Open Pit Geological Technician will report to the Senior Mine Geologist and be stationed at the Open Pit Murrawombie site.
This role offers either a DIDO or Residential arrangement, with a 7:7 roster including both day and night shifts as required.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily operations to monitor the extraction of ore and ensure data is collected safely and efficiently.Classify ore into high-grade and low-grade categories.Assist with the marking of ore and waste blocks for extraction.Support the installation of Blast Movement Indicators (BVI) equipment.Perform Grade Control Sampling from blast hole rigs.Use specialized tools and software to analyse and document geological data.Monitor and report ore quality, ensuring adherence to grade control procedures.Contribute to safety and environmental compliance efforts.Work collaboratively with geologists, engineers, and other departments to improve pit design and operational efficiency.About You Previous experience in open pit mining (preferred but not mandatory).Strong knowledge of geological ore spotting and sampling methods.Excellent analytical abilities, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.Strong communication & organisation skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Proficiency in MS Office Suite.A valid NSW Driver's License.Ability to thrive in physically demanding conditions and adjust to changing weather environments.What We Offer
