EDL is experiencing a period of significant change and growth and is therefore seeking a Business Development Manager who can effectively manage organic development and M&A opportunities. This role is crucial in driving growth in alignment with EDL's strategy and reinforcing its reputation as a global leader in sustainable distributed energy.
Reporting to the Head of Growth – Clean Energy, key deliverables include:
Driving M&A project management processes including due diligence, valuations, scoping, closing and integration. Analysis and researching activities required to assess strategic impact and risk of M&A opportunities. Identifying potential new clients to partner with, and infrastructure projects and locations. Effectively leading and supporting strategic studies, investigating marketplaces and being across industry trends. Co-ordinating inter-disciplinary inputs and third-party consulting efforts. Negotiating and concluding organic and inorganic projects with clients and key partners. Ensuring project milestones are met whilst adhering to approved project budgets. Maintaining knowledge of day-to-day market developments and accurately assessing the opportunities provided. Planning the development strategy to produce market penetration of EDL's products and services into appropriate market segments. To excel in this pivotal position you will have:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in commerce, finance or legal disciplines. A proven track record in originating, negotiating, developing, and closing infrastructure deals. A working knowledge of Australian infrastructure, energy or M&A markets and awareness of the competitive landscape and market rules, regulations, and key players. Strong financial modelling and valuation experience. Experience in managing M&A bids or interest in developing this skill. Market assessment, risk analysis and strategic planning. Complex contract negotiation skills and experience dealing with legal agreements and liaising with legal advisors. Experience in sourcing, building, and managing strong industry and customer relationships. Confidence to establish credibility and work with Executive Leadership teams and joint venture partners. Initiative, drive, a curious nature and sense of humour.
