Responsibilities:
Strong knowledge of control systems, including DCS, PLC, SCADA, and all field instrumentation such as Pressure, flow, Temperature, Levels, vibration, and speed; Proficiency in using diagnostic and troubleshooting tools; Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a high level of logical approach; Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams; Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements; Develop/enhance routine and preventive maintenance of instruments to ensure high reliability; Perform calibration and troubleshooting of instruments, ensuring compliance with ISO standards; Develop procedures to improve testing, repair, and preventive maintenance of field instruments; Implement best practices to maintain instruments test equipment with standard tolerances; Control and maintain calibration records through the system and review/ensure instruments meet accuracy requirements; Lead the installation and commissioning of instrumentation projects; Perform system testing, calibration, and configuration to ensure proper operation; Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure timely and quality material delivery/installation and repairs; Obtain appropriate instruments model codes based on the design datasheets and process data sheets maintaining industry standards (ISA, API, IEC) or company standards for obsolete instruments; Develop/review detailed technical specifications and documentation for new projects or upgrades and add comments to improve or develop existing instrument selections; Collaborate with the operation/process teams to optimize control systems for better efficiency and product quality; Analyze and interpret data from Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) to resolve issues and improve system performance; Update control loop based on MOC (management of change system); Ensure all instrumentation activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards, including hazardous area classification (ATEX, IECEx) for new projects or obsolete instruments; Implement best practices for Functional Process Safety assessment/management with engineering and operation teams in line with (MET) and IEC 61511; Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance and operation teams and PD team; Develop training programs for technicians on best practices for instrumentation maintenance and safety instrument systems (SIS); Root Cause Analysis (RCA) as investigator and participant for instrument-related failures and implement corrective actions; Support operation in operating large rotary equipment such as gas/steam turbines; Cooperate with operation/process team to develop and enhance control systems of gas/steam turbine GOV systems; Support Condition Monitoring team in analyzing related rotary uncertainties indications situation; Support automation team in rotary monitoring systems and its related instruments; Work with planners and schedules for the day-to-day activities and its related discoveries.
Essential skills and knowledge
Minimum Qualification & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Instrument Engineering; Minimum of 8-10 years experience in carrying out Instrument Maintenance in the Oil and Gas industry; Experience working with all major types of instrumentation used in the Oil and Gas industry; Experience in maintenance of various Control systems - DCS, ESD, PLCs, Vibration Monitoring systems, Governor Controls, Anti-surge Controllers, etc.
; Experience working with Field Bus systems is preferable; Shall interface with maintenance, automation, and operations teams.
