About the TeamThe National Capital Authority (NCA) estate is a high-profile area with very high expectations on its presentation and performance.
The Built Assets section is responsible for the operations, asset management, maintenance, and capital upgrade of the assets within this estate.
The value of the NCA's asset base is close to $1 billion.
It includes iconic assets (e.g.
Carillon, Captain Cook Memorial Jet, Regatta Point Building) and other more utilitarian assets classes (e.g.
bridges, roads, paths, carparks, minor structures, other buildings, water services, hydraulics, electrical and security related).
All assets are expected to be managed to a standard befitting the nation's capital.
This requires a high standard of presentation and safety for work by the Built Assets team.
About the JobReporting to the Manager, Built Assets, the successful applicant will assist to develop and deliver the NCA's maintenance program.
Key responsibilities for the position will be acting as the first point of contact to assist internal staff with queries and maintenance tasks on the estate, auditing works on the estate to monitor quality delivered under our Maintenance Service contract and assisting with assurance of other contract requirements.
The key duties of the position include:Maintaining an up-to-date condition report on all assets across the estate through regular inspections.Working with contractors and sub-contractors to ensure that maintenance works are carried out to specifications.
This will include managing associated paperwork such as work orders and quotations.Processing energy invoices for multiple accounts across the estate.Acting as the Built Assets team first point of contact for general queries and providing ad hoc support for work within the team.Supporting the wider NCA to deliver events requiring the use of built assets and public spaces, through activities such as the provision of minor works, modifications, additional waste removal, repairs, and restoration.Contributing to business improvement strategies and planning of the works program.Assisting with reviews and the provision of technical advice in relation to developments or Works Approvals on NCA land.Conducting relevant procurement activities where required to support team deliverables.Supporting management of and compliance with the NCA keys and access systems.Assisting with the Asset Management and Documentation Management Systems.Participating as a constructive member of the NCA and providing reasonable support to build team capacity and ensure operational functions are delivered.Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).
All applicants offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a pre-engagement screening check, even if they have a security clearance.
The screening check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Baseline level.
The successful applicant/s must be willing to share all relevant and required information.
