Job description: To provide ongoing safety of the RNO mine site staff and support the entire operation with regards to emergency preparedness and management of emergencies. To lead and manage the on shift emergency response function to provide early intervention and management of impacts from emergencies. Support other departments with emergency response requirements and complete all other required duties.
Key A ccount abilities Emergency Services
Daily organisation and leadership of emergency response shift personnel and resources to ensure business needs are met.
Maintain a positive approach to work and be collaborative with your peers and team mates.
Assist the Emergency Response Coordinator with delivering the HSE plan.
Conduct effective and clear hand over with incoming and outgoing crews.
Accountable for the On-Call Emergency Response mobile phone.
Monitor, record and action site phone and radio emergency calls.
Lead response to fire, rescue and hazmat emergency situations and escalate as per procedures.
Assume role of the On Scene Commander.
Plan and deliver weekly ERT training and drills as per training schedule.
Plan and conduct weekly and monthly ER inspections and equipment checks as per schedule.
Create reports to meet business requirements – Daily, Weekly, and Monthly.
Provide advice and support with regards to the review and/or development of RNO Emergency Preparedness Processes.
Assessment and development of rescue plans (W@H, CSEP, and Area Evacuations) and issue burn permits.
Perform all other reasonable duties as required by Emergency Response Coordinator and associated procedures.
Medical Centre Support Services Assist with treatment of work related injuries and transport under direction of MESO.
Assist with treatment of significant non work related health issues and transport under direction of MESO.
Assist with return to work plans under direction of MESO and/or Medical Coordinator.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience Mandatory Cert 3 Mines Rescue or Public Safety with at least 5+ years' experience in a similar capacity.
Cert IV Healthcare (Ambulance) or above with at least 2+ years' experience in a clinical or emergency capacity
Drug & Alcohol Testing Certification.
Current minimum HR B license.
Strong communication skills.
Demonstrated results from working as a leader in an emergency team environment.
Australian working rights
Desirable INX experience, InControl, InFlight or InTuition
Mental Health First Aid qualification.
Safety Officer Qualification with at least 2+ years' experience in a similar capacity.
Cert 4 Training and Assessment.
Drive under emergency conditions qualification.
Current or previous Security qualifications and experience.
Testing and Tagging of Fire Fighting Equipment.
Exposure to large minerals processing and mining environments
