This role is an all-rounder position and will suit those who enjoy variety, as well as developing new skills.About the teamOur Cairns office specialises in providing clients with advice regarding immigration matters and we are seeking an office assistant to join the team to support them with the day to day running of the office alongside the provision of legal administration support.The team are seeking someone on a part time basis (around 21 hours a week). We are flexible around days worked – whether working 3 full days or 4 or 5 days with reduced hours each day.About the roleIn this position you will provide reception, generalist admin and some legal assistant support to a small team of professional staff. This is a collaborative team with opportunities to further develop skills in legal administration and will suit candidates who enjoy working in a close-knit team environment.This is a great opportunity to join a high functioning, positive and supportive team with highly regarded specialist lawyers and access to interesting and varied work.Day to day the role will require you to have responsibility for the following:Mail, deliveries and court assistanceManaging incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries and couriers as requiredAssisting with court lodgements and brief runs as requiredReceptionFront of house reception support throughout the dayIncoming call management and triageGreeting clients and stakeholdersArranging refreshments and catering as required for client meetings and eventsOffice coordinationEnsuring stationery, office and kitchen supplies are maintainedEngaging and working with suppliers and contractorsAssisting with office events on occasionLegal AdministrationAssist with opening and closing filesCreation of various documents including costs letters, application formsManaging billing for the teamMaintaining and updating client information online as requiredDiary managementPhotocopyingArchivingAbout youYou will have prior experience in a customer focused environment whether this is in administration, reception or office support. Ideally from a legal, professional services or government background but this is not essential.
