About SMHRU The new SMHRU unit offers mental health rehabilitation services for individuals needing extended inpatient care in a secure environment. Our focus is on autonomy, self-determination, and working collaboratively towards independent living. All consumers are over 18 years of age.

About Your New Role Gold Coast Health has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist – Senior to join our newly developed Secure Mental Health Unit and make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Key Responsibilities Deliver high level Occupational Therapy clinical servicesProvide efficient, responsive and recovery-oriented mental health careProvide evidence-based Occupational Therapy assessment, collaborative treatment planning and case managementProvide intensive, developmentally appropriate, consumer-centred, mental health interventionsContribute to the development of clinical practice procedures and protocols, for both the discipline and the multi-disciplinary teamQualifications To be successful in this position you will require:
Tertiary degree in Occupational TherapyA graduate certificate or greater within a relevant specialty area is highly desirableRegistration with AHPRAEvidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis BTuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be requiredDeclaration of serious discipline history must be disclosedCriminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)Benefits of Working with Gold Coast Health Salary Packaging12.75% super17.5% leave loadingInterstate/International candidates may be eligible for the Queensland Health Attraction Incentive – up to $20,000!Permanent full timeBase salary ranging from $128,169 - $137,918 per annumHow to Apply Click APPLY to submit your application by Wednesday, 11 December 2024.
