Applications are invited for a fixed term, 25 hours per week Band 5 Occupational Therapist based between Broadford and Portree Hospitals working within the community integrated team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within an established team of Occupational Therapists in a community-based setting. The focus for this post is provision of occupational therapy assessment and interventions to help maximise client function and independence focusing predominantly on rehabilitation. You will work across Broadford and Portree hospitals with an aim to facilitate earlier hospital discharges/prevention of hospital admissions, and with an opportunity to outreach into the community for continuity of care.
You will be expected to act independently to provide a full comprehensive service of assessment, diagnosis, treatment/appropriate management, onward referral and discharge to a complex range of patients referred to the service.
You will work within Multidisciplinary Teams, supervise Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioners, and Occupational Therapy students. Regular supervision is provided (including peer supervision opportunities) and opportunities for ongoing professional development are encouraged.
A Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy is required as is current HCPC registration.
You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations and patient residences, so a full current driving license is essential.
