Location Profile Fountain Gate Secondary College is located in the City of Casey in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne, approximately 40 kilometres from the Melbourne Central Business District. The school was registered as a Year 7-12 provider in 2009.
We provide high-quality education for the Narre Warren community in a safe, supportive and educationally challenging environment.
The school grounds include an indoor multi-purpose gymnasium, flexible classrooms, and specialist facilities. Enrolments are approximately 1240 students.
Selection Criteria Demonstrated capacity to deliver a variety of occupational therapy interventions with children from Year 7-12. Demonstrated capacity to work within a collaborative professional team. Demonstrated ability to use initiative, prioritisation and reflective practice to strategically plan and manage caseload. Demonstrated interpersonal skills including effective communication with professionals, teachers and parents. A commitment to professional learning and growth. Role The primary role of an Occupational Therapist at Fountain Gate Secondary College is to support students in developing their skills and abilities to learn safely and independently at school. The Occupational Therapist is a member of the Learning and Wellbeing Team responsible for developing and providing a comprehensive framework to respond to the needs of students and their families.
Responsibilities Services provided by an Occupational Therapist may include (but are not limited to):
Assessing and analysing students' movement, sensory needs, and cognitive and psychosocial skills. Assessing the school and learning space environments to identify modifications and supports. Providing high-quality advice and support to the whole school community. Developing, delivering and evaluating occupational therapy intervention. Providing professional learning for the school community. Maintaining appropriate records and providing written and oral reports.
