DescriptionJob Summary: The occupational therapy assistant is responsible for the patients assigned to her/him and must follow the plan of care established by the registered occupational therapist.

The occupational therapy assistant promotes safe and effective care to all age groups.
QualificationsEducation Requirements and Other Requirements: Education Level: Graduate from an occupational therapy assistant curriculum approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
Certification/Licensure: Current licensed in the State of Illinois.
Experience Requirements: One year experience in the health care setting is required.
Other Requirements: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
Working Conditions: Exposure Category 1: Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. All procedures or other job-related tasks that involve an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashes of them, are Category 1 tasks. Use of appropriate protective measures is required for every employee engaged in Category 1 tasks.
