The Nursing Director (ND) Forensic Nursing Services/Forensic Nurse Examiner is the regional coordinator and point of contact for sexual assault and clinical forensic services within The Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS). Fixed Term Temporary full-time, up to 30/06/2028. The ND will promote, coordinate, and deliver forensic medical responses within THHS that are timely, efficient, trauma-informed, and sustainable in alignment with the Townsville Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) model of intervention and the Qld Health Sexual Assault Services Framework for exemplar sites.
The ND provides contemporary operational and professional leadership for the Sexual Assault Service.
Generous remuneration package value up to $186,962 p.a. comprising:
Salary range of $155,831 to $163,382 p.a. The Ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following: Lead and provide a culturally capable health service.Comprehensive and expert knowledge of contemporary nursing theory and practice.Advanced capability in leadership, service planning, change management, professional standards, and policy.Achieve against key performance indicators.Ongoing professional development and commitment to the development of a work-based culture that promotes and supports culturally appropriate education, research, and workforce development.High degree of systems literacy and ability to manage care across a variety of health care environments.High level written and verbal communication skills.Requirements: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.Possession of a Postgraduate Certificate in Forensic Nursing.Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.Highly Desirable: Extensive experience and knowledge in Clinical Forensic Medicine.On call: Appointees may be required to participate in an on-call roster.Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.The applicant ideally will have a working knowledge of a range of software packages used in the clinical and management environment, including Microsoft Windows, Excel, Access, Matrix, and PowerPoint.Travel: Travel by light aircraft may be required. Please note, from time to time this position will be required to travel to, and work at, other facilities located within the Rural Hospitals Service Group network to participate in meetings for planning, quality, performance, training and education, or clinical activities. This may involve day and/or overnight stays. Travel on small planes or ferry may be required.
