Nurse Unit Manager - Surgical | Canberra A fantastic opportunity awaits a Surgical Registered Nurse ready to assume the role of Nurse Unit Manager in the Surgical unit at a private hospital in Canberra. It is apermanent full-time role.
ROLE OVERVIEW The position is responsible for providing clinical leadership to the Unit to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, and quality management of all patients.
You will provide clinical operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management by coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based. With the assistance and direction of the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be accountable and responsible for the effective daily management of human, financial and material resources.
REQUIREMENTS Current Registration with AHPRA; Working with Children check (if relevant); Experience in the Acute setting/relevant to position advanced skills; Degree in the relevant specialty area; Sound clinical knowledge; Compliance with ACQSHC National standards; Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills; Positive role modelling behaviours; Excellent customer service focus, time management and prioritisation; Ability to manage a dynamic and changing environment; A high degree of computer literacy including MS Office and various databases. ABOUT THE FACILITY The hospital, located in Canberra, is an acute facility with 8 operating theatres, an Angiography Suite, a 2-bed Critical Care Unit, Medical Rehab, and a Day Chemotherapy/Infusion unit. The extensive range of acute and medical healthcare include orthopaedics, cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, general surgery, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, vascular surgery, urology and geriatric medicine.
