A vacancy has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced Nurse Unit Manager in the Peri-operative Service department at Newcastle Private Hospital.
The position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the peri-operative service to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, budget, and business direction of the hospital.
The NUM (Floor Manager) will provide operational direction for the peri-operative service to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of the nursing care that is evidence-based.
Be accountable and responsible for the effective management of human, financial, and material resources and ensure customer service is maintained at optimal levels.
As a NUM (Floor Manager) your responsibilities will include: Providing leadership and direction to the peri-operative service.Providing operational direction for the peri-operative service to ensure efficient and effective management of the area.Working as part of the healthcare team in the peri-operative setting.Coordination and allocation of staff.Understanding of legislative requirements, ACORN, and Sterilisation standards.Knowledge of accreditation processes and Quality/Risk management.Ensuring workplace health and safety guidelines and policies are met.Assisting in managing budgets and attainment of budgetary targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).Current AHPRA Registration.Holding a current NSW WWCC.Bachelor of Science (Nursing).5 years' experience as an RN in the peri-operative setting.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.Postgraduate qualification in perioperative nursing or working towards (Desirable).Prior experience as an In-charge RN or Acting Floor Coordinator (Desirable).Why Healthscope?
