RCH has cared for the children and young people of Victoria for more than 150 years since it was founded in 1870. A full range of paediatrics and adolescent health services are provided plus tertiary and quaternary care for the most critically ill and medically complex patients in Victoria, Tasmania, southern NSW and other states around Australia and overseas.
About the Role: This is a Fixed Term Full Time position covering Parental Leave from 23 February 2025 to 22 February 2026 within the Operating Theatres department. You will be responsible for providing leadership to staff throughout the Operating Suite, ensuring that clinical practice and delivery of care provided by staff is consistent with The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) and Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australian standards through comprehensive, safe and evidence-based practice to facilitate optimal health outcomes.
What you'll achieve: Maintain quality standards and excellence in clinical outcomes through evidence-based practice, research, education, and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.Develop and improve the Unit/Ward operations to ensure ongoing financial sustainability and service delivery efficiencies by managing the ward/unit budget, process improvements, and implementation of strategic initiatives.Plan nursing care based on patient-family centred principles and in consultation with the multidisciplinary health care team.Promote and develop a dynamic, flexible, resilient, and skilled workforce through effective staff management and professional development opportunities.Your skills and experience: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced in a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record/Professional Practice Portfolio (PPP).Previous experience in paediatrics is desirable.Extensive years of nursing experience in a perioperative environment.If this sounds like you, click here to view the position description.
