The Child Health Service (CHS) provides multidisciplinary primary community care services for children who reside in the CHQ HHS geographical area.
The CHS provides a child-centred, family-focused health service, which includes promotion of health and development, early detection, early intervention, and care planning.
This is achieved through enhancing opportunities for families to access support, developing linkages with community groups, building confidence and capability, and enhancing relationships between children and parents.
The CHS is underpinned by a Model of Care which provides the framework of evidence-based, clinically safe practice and efficient use of resources.
Clinical services are provided by qualified, culturally competent healthcare professionals, with specialist qualifications and/or experience in children's health and include Advanced Health Workers, Child Health Nurses, Social Workers, and Psychologists.
Accountable at an advanced practice level for leading and coordinating their respective Team in the Child Health Service to achieve best practice standards for clinical practice and patient-centred care within a healthcare team.
The NUM is responsible for the provision of effective and efficient human, material, and financial resource management.
