This position is temporary for from January until 30 June 2025.
This role involves managing a team predominantly in postoperative orthopaedics but also in areas of general and day only surgery.
Your main duties will include: Managing the resources available to the Unit regarding staffing, financials and goods.
Managing team dynamics and coordinate staffing rosters and update of rostering systems for reporting and to reflect unit activity.
Report operationally on activity and coordinate daily with nursing leadership the appropriate use of staffing and be availability Please see the Position Description outlining further roles and responsibilities About you Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and min 5 years post registration nursing experience.
Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills and ability to liaise and negotiate with clinicians, managers, staff and other key stakeholders and manage conflict.
Proven ability to create and maintain a positive workplace culture and articulate and achieve a vision for nursing services in the contemporary health care environment.
Demonstrated previous experience in meeting organisational set Key Performance Indicators.
Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, coach, mentor, encourage and guide others to enable them to reach their full potential.
Demonstrated ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the unit/ward are managed to deliver safe and efficient health care within available resources.
Evidence of and commitment to patient/client/customer focused care, clinical governance, and quality improvement.
