This is a highly demanding role that requires candidates to be hardworking, compassionate, and committed to providing top-tier care to the community. Our team values a fun, collaborative environment, with a strong focus on education, support, and compassion. The successful candidate will receive full orientation, ongoing educational opportunities, and support from the Hospital Services Manager (HSM), Nursing Unit Managers (NUMs), and a wider network of Nurse Practitioners within the health district.
As part of the Inverell Hospital Emergency Department team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-level emergency care within your scope to the people of Inverell and surrounding areas. You will be supported by a clinical Nursing Unit Manager, senior RNs, and Medical Officers, ensuring that you have the guidance and resources necessary to excel in this fast-paced, rural emergency department.
This is a seven-day-a-week position, with the added benefit of connecting with other NPs or TNPs across the district for support. TNP candidates will also be considered, with preference given to NPs. Additionally, you will have access to an established educational program through larger rural referral facilities, and administrative time will be included as part of the role.
Where you'll be working: Inverell, known as Australia's Sapphire City, is a historic town on the Macintyre River, famous for its gemstone hunting at Billabong Blue Sapphire Fossicking Park and other local sites. The town offers charming boutiques, coffee shops, and scenic countryside drives, with easy access to flights from Inverell airport, including 1-hour flights to Brisbane and regular flights to Sydney and Melbourne. Enjoy a variety of leisure activities, including water sports at Copeton Dam, and participate in local sporting groups like hockey, soccer, football, and running clubs.
Inverell Hospital is a busy Rural District Hospital. Departments within the hospital include the Emergency Department, Renal Dialysis Unit, In-Patient Unit, Maternity and Surgical Services. Our emergency department operates a 24-hour comprehensive emergency service catering to critical and acute care patients.
