Your opportunity To develop and lead a new model of care within MHHS Perioperative and Ambulatory Stream to support the Orthopaedic Department to reduce both outpatient and elective surgical waitlists.
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide and coordinate comprehensive care of Orthopaedic and Orthopaedic Trauma patients using advanced practice skills.
The Nurse Practitioner (Orthopaedics) reports to the Nursing Director Perioperative and Ambulatory Services.
Clinical supervision is provided by Clinical Director Orthopaedics, other specialty medical officer/s.
About the Team The Orthopaedic team at the Mackay Base Hospital supports the state-wide orthopaedic training program providing general orthopaedic services, hip and knee arthroplasties, shoulder surgery and trauma services for the Mackay and surrounding Districts.
Patients utilising orthopaedic services within Mackay Base Hospital are provided with post operative care by a multi-disciplinary team on ward F0 which is an orthopaedic/ rehabilitation unit with 12 funded beds for orthopaedics.
