The Role: This role is a fixed term full-time position within the Day Cancer Centre (DCC) and Oncology Fast Track Clinic (OFTC) where you will be responsible for ensuring that clinical practice and delivery of care is consistent with RCH and Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board standards. You will provide comprehensive, safe, evidence-based practice to facilitate optimal health outcomes for our patients. What You'll Achieve: Fulfil duty of care by practicing within scope of practice in accordance with Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board guidelines and agreed NP Scope of Practice specific to this role. Demonstrate your analytical skills in assessing and evaluating health information Participate in quality improvement activities Plan nursing care in consultation with others (i.e. multidisciplinary health care team) Support oncology outpatients across Ambulatory Services and optimise patient access to timely treatment and facilitate patient flow. Be the APN lead for the OFTC. Be the escalation point for the teams on Wallaby Ward (HITH) providing care for children receiving oncology treatment including Chemotherapy in the Home and those on the Home Hydration program Classification for this position with range from NO1 - NO2 (CAPR7.1 – CAPR7.2) $132,418.00 to $134,934.00 per annum plus superannuation. Your Skills and Experience: Current Registration and endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Current Paediatric Care Prescribing Notation under the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Act, Department of Health, Victoria. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced in a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record/Professional Practice Portfolio (PPP) Extensive clinical knowledge and experience in the clinical care of children and adolescents with cancer, and their families. About The Department: The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) Children's Cancer Centre (CCC) is the largest partner in the Victorian Paediatric Integrated Cancer Services (PICS) and is a member of the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Care program. The CCC is the only provider of complex children's cancer care and stem cell transplantation in the state of Victoria. The CCC is recognised as an international leader in the research and treatment of childhood cancer, each year treating around 300 newly diagnosed cancer patients under the age of 18 and many children receive ongoing treatment and/or active patient follow up.
