About the role Mater Health is looking for a Nurse Practitioner - Haematology to join the Mater Cancer Care Centre team. This permanent, full-time role is based at our South Brisbane campus. Please note, this role is to commence in January 2025. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a Registered Nurse who delivers an advanced and extended level of nursing practice within the specialty. Working within local and nationally agreed guidelines and protocols, the NP exercises independent judgement to assess, investigate, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate clinical care and the management of patients/clients within their specific area of practice. As a core member of the interdisciplinary team the NP supports education and development of relevant interdisciplinary team members.
The NP practices both autonomously and in partnership with medical staff and other healthcare professionals. While working closely with the Haematology Medical Team, the NP retains operational and professional reporting to the Nursing and Midwifery Division Clinical Leader.
