Where you will be based Community Mental Health Services provide a range of services designed to help support the recovery and help consumers stay well in the community. The team provides specialist services for young people, children and families, adults, and older people. Community mental health services include a specialist Aboriginal Mental Health Team, bilingual mental health workers, and Peer Support Workers. The role will be based at Camperdown.
About the role The Assertive Outreach Teams are tertiary level community mental health teams providing coordinated services to consumers diagnosed with a severe and enduring mental illness who require an enhanced level of support to sustain living in the community.
The Assertive Outreach Team (AOT) based at Croydon Community Health Centre provides services to those living in the Canterbury and Croydon areas.The Mobile Assertive Treatment Team (MATT) based at the Camperdown Community Health Centre provides services to those living in the Camperdown, Marrickville, and Redfern areas.The AOT provides coordination and clinical services for identified supported housing programs. The clinician will practice in keeping with the standardised Sydney LHD position description for the profession in addition to this position description. The clinician will provide discipline-specific and targeted assessments or interventions.
We are looking for someone who... Holds recognised tertiary qualifications appropriate to profession. Full registration and eligibility for membership to professional association, as appropriate.Has demonstrated competencies to provide contemporary mental health practice.Holds an unrestricted NSW Driver's Licence (P2 licence acceptable).What we can offer you (for eligible employees)... About working for SLHD This is a Category A position. To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy (PD2022_030).
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
