This position is expected to commence in February 2025. Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship by March 2025 will be considered. However, the applicant will not be subsequently eligible to commence their appointment until after the relevant qualifications and requirements are formally completed.
Purpose of the Position
Provide clinical management, inpatient management and consultation service to patients under the care or consulted to the Interventional Radiology Unit of Royal North Shore Hospital and participate in an appropriate on-call roster for Royal North Shore Hospital. The position will provide clinical consultation services within NSLHD and will contribute to the teaching and training of medical students, graduates and other health care professionals and to research, evaluation and quality improvement activities within the District. The workload for this position consists of full range of IRSA Tier A and B procedures, including and not limited to interventional oncology (ablation, TACE, TAC, SIR-Spheres), Trauma embolization, hepatic (including TIPS), genitourinary, peripheral vascular, vascular access and fistula cases in addition to US and CT guided interventional radiology procedures. This position is temporary with the possibility of temporary extension based on performance, funding and need.
Selection Criteria MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants must have Fellowship of the RANZCR and/or passed the DRANZCR Part 2 examination (or equivalent) or have recognition as a specialist by the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship by March 2025 may be considered.
