Our purpose is to ensure that people in the Northern Territory understand their legal rights and disadvantaged people have access to quality legal services, and to uphold a fair Northern Territory and national justice system.
The Position: This position is an outstanding opportunity to take on a respected leadership role in the Northern Territory legal sector.
The Director isappointed by the Attorney-General andprovides efficient and effective leadership of Legal Aid NT to support and develop staff to ensure the territory-wide delivery of a range of flexible and innovative services responsive to the legal needs of disadvantaged clients.
The role builds on, promotes and maintains strong, effective service partnerships to respond to the legal and non-legal needs of clients. The Director is also responsible for the provision of policy advice to both the Legal Aid Board and the Attorney General.
As the head of the Executive Team, the role will lead the Executive Team's contribution to the development of Legal Aid NT's broader strategies and service delivery planning to ensure the provision of high quality and innovative legal services.
Legal Aid NT has offices in Darwin, Palmerston, Katherine, Tennant Creek and Alice Springs and attends courts based in different communities across the Territory, as required.
The position's conditions of employment are similar to those existing in theNorthern Territory Public Service.
