Director Industry Reporting and Core Facilities Senior Administrative Officer 2 - Remuneration Package $173,372 - $188,812
Northern Territory Geological Survey
Darwin
Ongoing vacancy
The Northern Territory Geological Survey (NTGS) is the custodian of knowledge and data on the Territory's geology and resources, and undertakes activities to support and grow the minerals and energy exploration industry. This includes resourcing the Territory a $9.5 million ongoing program providing pre-competitive geoscience and exploration stimulus programs designed to increase exploration activity and success rates.
As the Director Industry Reporting and Core Facilities, you will strategically lead a diverse team to manage statutory technical reporting by the exploration industry, provide advice on industry exploration work programs, and maximise the accessibility and usability of industry-submitted technical reports, geoscientific data and samples, to support the growth and development of the Territory's exploration sector.
You will combine your knowledge of geoscience and exploration with strong data and information management skills to drive continual improvement in the accessibility, quality and usability of open file industry data and samples to improve the Territory's competitiveness in attracting exploration investment.
The successful applicant will apply excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills to develop strong relationships and networks within industry and across Government, and influence resource policy and development of relevant legislation, regulations and standards. The position also plays an important role in maximising meaningful exploration activity in the Territory by providing and coordinating technical advice to inform the grant and renewal of exploration titles.
You will also provide strategic leadership for NTGS Core Facilities in Darwin and Alice Springs, including planning for future expansion, and ensuring delivery of best practice client service and provision of high-quality logistical support to NTGS field programs.
This is a great time to consider moving to the Territory. Reward yourself with an enviable lifestyle and a work-life balance that allows you time to explore stunning landscapes. You will find Darwin's rich multicultural society and community spirit makes it a great place to live, work and play.
Applications should consist of a one-page summary sheet, resume/CV and copies of relevant qualifications.
